Each nanmu wood pendant is decorated with natural raw lacquer. Colored lacquer is first built up into small raised mounds and left to cure. Different colors are then applied layer by layer, allowing the lacquer to cure between coats. Finally, the surface is carefully sanded to reveal the patterns beneath and hand-polished to bring out its gentle sheen.
