These are handmade Chinese lacquer dangle earrings with a half-moon pendant carved from golden nanmu (Phoebe zhennan, 金丝楠木), finished in red-and-gold ice-crackle lacquer (冰裂纹), by HFDlacquerware (禾丰鼎). At 1.75" (4.45 cm) long, with gold-plated ear wires, they are light enough for all-day wear.
Each pair takes three to four months to complete by hand. The fine crackle forms naturally as the lacquer layers dry and settle, so no two pairs are ever alike. Bright and easy to wear, they make a thoughtful gift for anyone who loves Chinese craft.
A half moon at sunset, red and gold, lined with fine cracks like the glaze on old porcelain. A little piece of evening you can wear all day.
