This is a handmade Chinese lacquer tea towel holder, finished in black and gold flowing gold lacquer (Liu Jin, 流金) over a wood body, by HFDlacquerware (禾丰鼎). At 7.3" × 3.0", it keeps a folded tea towel (茶巾) tidy and within reach beside the pot and cups through a gongfu session. Gold powder is mixed into natural raw lacquer (生漆) and dropped freely onto the surface, then left to settle into its own pattern, so no two pieces are alike. It makes a considered gift for someone who already has a tea set and cares about the small things on the table. The tea towel wipes away every drip and stays out of the way.
