This is a handmade Chinese lacquer round incense box, with lid and body finished in a flowing gold lacquer (Liu Jin, 流金) droplet pattern over deep black, from the Yi Series by HFDlacquerware (禾丰鼎). Compact at 3.5" across and 1.8" tall, it stores incense coils, small jewelry, or keepsakes, and sits well as a decorative accent on a table or shelf. Gold powder is mixed into natural raw lacquer (生漆) and dropped freely onto the surface, then left to settle into its own pattern, so no two boxes are alike.
