This full ebony tobacco pipe is crafted entirely from solid ebony wood — bowl and stem carved as one continuous piece, rather than joined with a separate acrylic stem. The wood is then finished using traditional Chinese raw lacquer (Urushi) techniques: a hemp-cloth and ground layer (guahui) is hand-applied before being hand-wiped with multiple coats of raw natural lacquer, producing a smooth, deep finish that only grows richer with use.
